And then, what’s next? Check out Kevin’s plans for the Great One’s appearance in “Hit Somebody”.
“…Intro at the start of Act 3, the beginning of the end of the goon hockey era. We refer to the wunderkind from Southern Ontario in Act 2, then we finally meet Brunt’s Shinny Myth. He dazzles and crushes in slo-mo & moving crane shots to the tune of Rush’s TOM SAWYER. I’m ready.”

| You'll be a dentist, you have a penchant for causing great pain! |
[Sep. 3rd, 2009|01:31 pm] |
Survived the 1st of what appears to be several dental appointments over the next few months to start fixing issues that have kept me away from a dentist for a decade now (that, and the lack of dental insurance). Nitrous is now my new best friend, without it, I would not have been nearly as easy to deal with.
Done: 3 fillings, deep cleaning To Do: 3 fillings (Sept. 30th), repair of broken tooth, possible repair of bridge from root canal 10 years ago, removal of 2 wisdom teeth (sometime probably early next year, hopefully all at once).
In other news, I've started attempting to get my weight back down to where I'd like it. Due to a combination of stress, grad school and not really caring to much, I had seen my weight up to 223 lbs., which if you know me, is way above what I used to be, and a good 30 lbs. above what I'd like to be (According to research, I should be 185-200, so I'd like to get to 195ish). So far, I'm about 1/2 way there, I weighed in at 207.2 this morning. I can defiantly tell the difference too, I have more energy than I did before, and the eating less is easier now that I've been doing so for a while now (also helps to figure out the best food to get when I do get fast food). |

Shuffle through your iPod or other music player of choice and type out the 1st line of the 1st 20 songs that you come across. Place them into a poem, with the 21st song as the title of the poem.
"And, Feeling The Way I Do"
I'm all busted up It's true you sold your guitar It's hard to wake up This is the greatest and best song in the world
Who's knows which one of us is here He sleeps with a chainsaw Time, is never time at all Here we go, vertigo, video, vertigo
You have found god in you I don't know who to trust, no surprise I would have thought in the average affair She waits for me at night
Time's not sleeping Don't look back, a new day's breaking Come with me and bless the night She said I don't know if I've ever been good enough
Instant karma's gonna get you Taken time, she needs I would swallow my pride Saying I love you |

So yesterday I got to break up a (nearly physical) fight in class. Who knew that someone's cell phone ringing could lead to a very loud argument? Seroiusly, as long as I've been in the college academic setting (which can now be measured in a dog's lifetime), I have never seen people nearly come to blows in a classroom.
Of course, it happens while I'm teaching...
The one good thing out of it was that the head of the department thought very highly of my deescaltion skills in keeping things from getting too out of hand. Not sure if it helps a resume' for a cognitive psychology professor to put "Excellent verbal fighing deescalation skills", but I may put it anyway. |

| Writer's Block: My First Car |
[May. 3rd, 2008|08:44 pm] |
The 1st car that I owned was a '86 Nissan Sentra that I named Steve, the little car that might. Anyone that knew me and that car in Houston knows it's tendance to die after about 30-40 minutes of city driving, only to start up after avout 15-20 minutes of rest. Twas a strange car, but it was my 1st. |

| What Do You Have To Say? - Small Business: My Own Business |
[Oct. 23rd, 2007|12:26 pm] |
Game design...I've actually started to construct a game of sorts intended to help me answer questions about problem solving for my dissertation. If I have the time/money/inclination, I'm going to try and make it something sellable once I'm done.
My other choice would be flipping houses. I've got to believe that I'm smarter than the majority of the rookies they get on shows that manage to triple their budget and their timeline and still somehow make 40-50k/month of work. the market may be down now, but I bet there is still money to be made there. |
